The Limestone women’s basketball team will be heading back to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in nine seasons.

Fourth-seeded Limestone upset the No. 2 seed Barton, 69-67, in the Conference Carolinas championship game to earn the automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Saints took a seven-point lead into the fourth quarter and held off Barton’s run to regain the advantage. Schekinah Bimpa, the Tournament MVP, had the game-winning basket with less than a minute to play.

Quin Byrd had a solid stat line as she led the way for Limestone with 21 points, five boards, three assists and three steals.
