GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Lander men’s cross country team finished fourth at the University of North Georgia Invitational.
The Bearcats as a team ran a time of 2:29.05. Anderson (S.C.) took first place with a time of 2:12.42.
Junior Trent Powers paced Lander with a time of 27:48.7, good for 12th overall.
Senior McKenna Burrows was next to finish for the Bearcats with a 24th place finish (29:21.0). Senior Josh Chapman was close behind with a 26th place finish (29:27.6). Junior Chase Couch placed 32nd (30:09.0), junior Sam Smith finished 36th (32:19.6), freshman Christopher Williams-Abney finished 41st (34:22.7) while fellow freshman Connor Cummings placed 42nd (35:19.2).
The Lander women’s cross country team took seventh place at the UNG Invitational.
As a team, Lander ran a time of 1:51.38. Anderson (S.C.) took first place with a time of 1:34.03.
Sophomore Gabbi Hart was first to finish for the Bearcats, finishing 26th with a time of 20:28.5.
Fellow sophomore Melanie Murray was next to cross the line for Lander, finishing 36th with a time of 21:23.2. Freshman Mykala Cantrell finished 43rd (22:40.8), sophomore Missy O’Toole placed 48th (23:18.3), sophomore Mia Cranksfield took 50th place (23:47.4) and sophomore Lindsey Thompson finished 54th (24:22.2).
The Bearcats’ teams travel to Aiken, s.c., to compete in the final regular-season meet of the season at the USC Aiken Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 31.
