BIRMINGHAM – NGU has been a member of the Gulf South for only two full seasons but that didn’t stop league voters from giving Chauncy Haney yet another accolade as the former defensive end for the Crusaders earned a 2nd Team All-Decade nod this week.
Haney turned in his best season as a Crusader in 2019, earning All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American honors in the process. The pro-prospect led the lead in sacks and tackles for a loss this season and also aided NGU’s special teams blocking a pair of field goals. He led North Greenville defenders with 55.5-tackles with 9.5 sacks and 16 stops for a loss. He also forced a pair of fumbles.
