LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Limestone College Athletics Media Relations Office was recognized as the top NCAA Division II office in Conference Carolinas by the American Volleyball Coaches Association as part of the Grant Burger Media Award presented annually by the AVCA.
The Media Relations office consisting of Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations Ernest Meyers, Coordinator of Social and Digital Media Michael Sanders and Coordinator of Media Relations and primary men’s and women’s volleyball contact Jordan Parry were honored as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas winner in men’s volleyball. The Limestone media relations department was also recognized by the AVCA in 2018 as the winner of the NCAA Division II Southeast region award for women’s volleyball.
The AVCA Grant Burger Media Award is an honor intended to recognize members of the media who have been involved in the advancement of the sport of volleyball through consistent coverage in all mediums. It is named in honor of Grant Burger, former Director of Sports Information and Associate Director of the AVCA (1988-92), whose hard work, innovative mind, knowledge and enthusiasm took the areas of media relations and publications at the AVCA to a higher level and increased awareness of the sport of volleyball nationwide.
Nominations for the Grant Burger Media Award are made by head coaches who are current members of the AVCA.
“Congratulations to our deserving Media Relations Department on this tremendous honor,” said Limestone Head Men’s Volleyball Coach Steve Benson. “We greatly appreciate the staff’s exceptional coverage and promotion of our program and we are grateful for all of their hard work throughout the season and beyond.”
