GREENWOOD – Head men’s soccer coach Lee Squires and his coaching staff have been named the Southeast Regional Staff of the Year, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches.
In addition, the Regional Staff of the Year recipients have been placed on the ballot for United Soccer Coaches National Staff of the Year consideration within their respective NCAA division.
Along with Squires, the Bearcats are led by assistant coaches Dale Parker and Evan Rogers and athletic trainer Dan Holt.
Lander began the year with a 1-0 exhibition win against Div. I South Carolina before winning its first four conference matches by a combined score of 12-0.
The Bearcats would go undefeated in the regular season, scoring 25 goals while only allowing four.
Lander saw seven players named to the all-PBC team at the conclusion of the season. Squires was named the Peach Belt Conference Coach of the Year. Squires has been named the PBC COTY three times since coming to Greenwood.
The Bearcats also saw Tom Marriott and Marco Gueli named Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year respectively.
